The Office can confirm that an unexpected administrative difficulty has arisen during the first day of the Official Staff Census.
Mrs Emmeline Peckhurst reports that, whilst the vast majority of creatures have attended the census in good order, a significant number have proved unable to state their scientific species despite having attended the Department for Biological Classification, Taxonomy & General Creature Identification.
Investigations have revealed that this is due to the Department’s resident expert in the identification of mammals, birds, insects and arachnids being on a twelve-month secondment in Costa Rica, working with the United Nations International Pollinator Liaison Programme to support conservation and sustainable agriculture initiatives.
Field Operative Mr Phileas Moss Esq. has therefore been instructed to continue his mission to the organisation in Upton, but to change his objective from procuring Insect & Avian Translation Experts to recruiting a suitably qualified Temporary Classification & Taxonomy Officer (Mammals, Insects, Birds & Arachnids).
Pending this appointment, the Office has authorised census operations to continue solely with members of Health & Safety (Ant Division), whose scientific classification has already been verified as Black Garden Ant (Lasius niger).
Mrs Emmeline Peckhurst advises that 3 ants have so far successfully completed their census forms, leaving approximately 14,997 members of Health & Safety (Ant Division) to be processed.
