I have been asked by the Department for Elections & Governance to clarify the circumstances surrounding my acceptance of votes from certain participants in the currently suspended Employee of the Week vote.
Having now reviewed my notes, I can confirm that I did indeed allow a group of moths to vote. However, in my defence, the individuals in question bore a striking resemblance to bats and were additionally carrying ID cards identifying them as “Bat Moths”. In the circumstances, I had no reason to doubt their eligibility.
Furthermore, as one pigeon responsible for running a highly attended ballot whilst simultaneously overseeing a very large public demonstration, it is respectfully submitted that I cannot reasonably be expected to distinguish between every species of flying creature by appearance alone.
I fully believed I was acting in accordance with Tiggy’s previous constitutional ruling regarding the eligibility of bats to vote.
