The Duck (you know the one) is delighted to announce that, having arrived at Eastgate Square this afternoon in full Town Crier costume, he has been accepted by host and Chester Town Crier David Mitchell (not that David Mitchell, THAT David Mitchell) as a late wildcard entry in the World Town Crier Tournament 2026.
The Duck thoroughly enjoyed meeting today’s judging panel and will now take his place alongside the 25 other Town Criers from around the world for the grand finale in Chester on Saturday.
He considers himself exceptionally strong in all four judging categories: vocal power, clarity, showmanship and audience engagement.
