1.21 Official Announcement – Emergency Avian Suffrage Order

Following an emergency meeting involving the Departments for Avian Affairs, Elections & Governance and Law & Justice, Tiggy has reached a decision regarding the current situation on Platform 5.

The Office has been advised by the Department for Historical Research that today marks the 98th anniversary of the death of Emmeline Pankhurst.

The Office wishes to make clear that this information, together with recent events involving Emmeline the Pigeon and her supporters, has had absolutely no bearing whatsoever on Tiggy’s decision.

Following a thorough review of the constitutional position, Tiggy has repealed the Avian Representation Act 1996 with immediate effect.

Voting rights are hereby extended to all birds regardless of:

• Species

• Nationality

• Migratory status

• Nesting preference

• Previous disagreements with station staff

To facilitate the orderly participation of avian subjects in the Employee of the Week vote, a secure and legally compliant ballot box has been attached to the railing on Platform 5.

The Office is also pleased to announce that Emmeline has accepted appointment as Interim Assistant Deputy Acting Head of Avian Affairs (Platform 5 Division) and will be responsible for the distribution of ballot papers and the oversight of lawful voting procedures.

The Department for Elections & Governance has advised that, in order to ensure all newly enfranchised avian subjects have a reasonable opportunity to participate, the Employee of the Week poll will remain open until 5pm tomorrow.

The Office notes that Tiggy has long been a supporter of progressive avian participation and is pleased that history has finally aligned itself with her position.

Announcement issued jointly by Tiggy and the Departments for Avian Affairs, Elections & Governance, Law & Justice and Historical Research.

The Office of Tiggy. 🐾
