5.16 Statement from Tiggy

One can now confirm that, having carefully considered the full wording of the relevant constitutional documents and following consultation with Independent Senior Adviser for Constitutional & Strategic Affairs, Luther, one has determined that the guiding constitutional principle as to voting eligibility is best summarised by Mrs Emmeline Peckhurst’s now well-known battle cry:

“Two wings, two feet, fly or float, one vote, one vote, one vote.”

Accordingly, I hereby rule that all flying creatures possessing two or more feet are constitutionally eligible to participate in the Employee of the Week ballot.

Voting shall recommence on Platform 5 for all those eligible with immediate effect.

Mrs Emmeline Peckhurst has been informed and has asked that voters remain calm and don’t swarm the platform. She is currently understood to be preparing ballot papers and sourcing additional ballot boxes.

Additionally, one would like to advise Station Rat A and Station Rat B that I shall be hunting them down for further questioning – whilst the constitutional position regarding the eligibility of Bat Moths to vote has now been clarified, the circumstances surrounding how the moths came to be in possession of ID cards, and indeed their attendance at the ballot at all, warrant further enquiry.

One thanks the public for their patience and congratulates all newly enfranchised insects.
