Mrs Emmeline Peckhurst first came to the attention of the Office attached to a railing on Platform 5, where she was conducting a hunger strike in protest at the exclusion of birds from the Employee of the Week vote. Her campaign led to emergency constitutional reform, the repeal of the Avian Representation Act 1996, and the extension of voting rights to birds.
She was subsequently appointed Interim Assistant Deputy Acting Head of Avian Affairs (Platform 5 Division), overseeing avian voting operations, foreign voter communication issues, and later matters relating to overnight flying mammal voting. Following the submission of her resignation due to working conditions, Mrs Peckhurst accepted a promotion to the expanded role of Interim Assistant Deputy Acting Head of Avian Affairs & Flying Mammals (Platform 5/6 Division).
