The Department of Avian Affairs recognises the concerns being raised by non-avian stakeholders occupying Platform 6 and fully supports their right to seek representation within the democratic process. However, the Department respectfully asks that it be acknowledged that it is already under considerable pressure as it administers an active ballot, responds to an increasing volume of correspondence, manages voter enquiries and struggles on without an Avian Translation Expert seemingly even on the horizon, let alone present to assist.
Whilst the Department does not oppose the principle of wider representation, it strongly recommends that any expansion of voting rights should not take place until appropriate administrative structures, staffing and support arrangements are in place.
Please be reminded that the Department currently consists of one pigeon.
