14.16 Letter to the Department of Internal Investigations & Prosecutions.

To the Department of Internal Investigations & Prosecutions,

I feel it is my duty to bring to your attention a conversation I happened to overhear yesterday afternoon while at Chester Station for Tiggy’s stained-glass-window sitting. I was just readying my sketching supplies and waiting for Tiggy to grace me with her presence when I heard a small but fierce voice say:

“I came up with a perfectly simple scheme for you to make us both a bit of cash and, as usual, you somehow managed to screw it up.”

But it was the second voice that particularly caught my attention, as I immediately knew it was Station Rat B, having conversed with him previously regarding the parasols he was selling:

“But I didn’t even want to do it,” he said. “I was literally on my way to drop them into Lost Property when I popped in to visit you in your cell…”

“Well, how else were you going to pay me back for all the bumbling which got me thrown in that darn cell in the first place!”

I trust this information may be of assistance to your enquiries.

Yours faithfully,
Mrs Gladys M. Dillwyn-Llewelyn
